Now, I wonder if Tamer is on this list, or just on the meetup?

Tamer, I put some info on the Big Data info I knew about in a new
thread on meetup - you can find it here:

Sadly it seems much of the 'use public data and big data mining
analysis for the social good' stuff may have petered out somewhat -
but might be worth chasing.

I'll note, there is a bit data group at Leeds Uni, and they seem quite active.
