[Wylug-help] ISA Network card

Hi,
I have found that 'Tom's Root and Boot' floppy distro is useful in these ca=
ses - usually find network cards OK.

The other option is to get the (Dos based) setup floppy for the card from t=
he makers, turn off the 'plug and prey' mode and manually fix IO and INT to=
particular settings. [I had to do this when I had some 3 Com 509's which w=
ere expecting the 'plug and prey' OS to configure them.]

Once you know the IO and INT you can specify them when you load the module.=
IO and INT only show up in /proc once the driver is installed and working.

Maybe ISAPNP might also be able to help.

Good luck,
Simon Wood.

Subject: RE: [Wylug-help] ISA Network card

Does anyone know how to set up (or even find!) an ISA network card under li=
nux?

I'm running RH9 on a Dell Optiplex, and it cannot detect the card. Card doe=
s
work under windows, and the ISA slots are Ok as it can detect the old Sound
Blaster.

Have looked in /proc but the card does not have an interupt or IO. The card=
 is
some sort of Genius, but as I got it from a friend I'm not sure what type.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mark Fenton
