Yes. This topic is covered in many howto's and web sites etc.
It depends what your internet connection is.

Linux has no problems acting as a router, you will probably need to use
masquerading i.e. translating your private LAN IP addresses to the real IP
address of yuor internet connection.

Have a look at the Networking Howto and the Masquerading Howto, and have a
google round to get info.

Many people use a dedicated box, running a specialised Linux distro
like smoothwall.
