I'm a Linux/Mandrake newbie and have just installed (after a BIOS upgrade)
Mdk9.2 - very nice it is too.

I made a boot disk - check out the online Mandrake Documentation
http://doc.mandrakelinux.com/MandrakeLinux/92/en/Starter.html/install-bootdisk.html
which expains how to create a boot disk under windows/Linux.

If you've installed Mandrake, you will have come across a summary screen which
shows which kit such a soundcards etc have been detected?

On the Mandrake web site, there is also a hardware database which is worth
checking out.

Try also looking at some of the forums, particulalrly Mandrake Linux Users Board
which can be accessed from the Mandrake web site/other resouces.
