I doubt it. I'm using 10.0, not 9.2, but I don't have either of those files.
I think sometimes scripts are updated to deal with newer distros and
sometimes they forget to take out things that are no longer relevant. Of
course I could be wrong, but I don't think you have any need to worry.

If you had been doing this from the gui you would not have seen that at all.
If anything drastic happened you would have seen a message box, other wise
nothing would have appeared. That's why, when something doesn't seem to
behave as it should, you are advised to start the app from a console screen,
so that you can see any messages that arrive. They often give you clues as
to what's really happening - or not, as the case may be.

One other thing - if you are going to be running that box as a multiuser box
in kde, can I suggest that you go to Mandrake Control Center, Display
Manager, and select kde, as mkd-kde is the default. The straight kde login
manager is more user-friendly in a multi-user setup.

When you've time, follow the link in my sig for lots of useful hints and tips.
The page on MandrakeMailingListEtiquette is helpful in making sure that you
get the best help available - lots of people don't realise what things upset
people :-)
