[Wylug-help] Dave's talk

I feel the need to put the case as seen by a small non-computing business, as
this is an area that is very poorly provided. The truth is that the
requirements are very similar to those of bigger businesses, but the budget
is not. I think Linux could have a very big market here, if it is approached
well, though I'm not absolutely certain that every need can yet be met. For
anyone who could be interested in this type of business, I have put up a
document at http://www.lydgate.org.uk/linux/WYLUG.html to give an idea of
what may be the ups and downs of such a proposal.

You'll also note, if you read it, that I have no belief whatsoever in the
requirement to have used M$Office to be employable. After all, the main
difference between two word processors, or two spreadsheets, at the level
that most people use them is merely the organisation of menus and recognition
of icons. Anyone who does use more advanced techniques should be quite
capable of switching those skills to another package. If they can't,
frankly, I don't want to employ them.

There were many areas where I'm confident that the need could be met, but
others where I'm not too sure. I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts
