There's nothing wrong with this. 195.8.178.184 is derived from a A
record for mail.ukzone.com. If it were a CNAME then things would be
wrong.

Likewise, 195.8.178.184 resolves to mail.gvl99.co.uk, and there's
nothing wrong with that either.

This isn't really a reverse record as such. The in-addr is just part of
zen.co.uk's naming convention. They don't give individual names to their
DSL customers, just an arbitrary name with numbers in it.

Nope. It's quite valid for this to be the case. A single MX could handle
mail for any number of domains.

There's a whole argument around whether or not MX's should be making
decisions based on whether things have valid DNS names and reverse DNS
entries.

What I can't get here is why you're unable to *receive* mail from these
senders. Normally problems arise when they're receiving mail from you.
Again, a bounce message would really help.
