Which isn't necessarily a good thing -- the advantage of a descriptive
(rather than presentational) mark-up language such as HTML is that
documents can adapt to fit each reader's environment and preferences.

But not quite as searchable. If I get PDF douments in Google search
results I tend to scan down the list to see if there are 'normal' web
pages which will do, or I try Google's 'view as HTML' link, to avoid the
overhead of spawning a separate HTML viewer.

And not as easily editable by somebody who wishes to transform the
document into something else. Or use Greasemonkey to tweak it in some
way.

And it's harder to link to a particular slide, which is often useful on
mailing lists such as this one when somebody asks a question which a
slide happens to answer (but the presentation as a whole isn't
relevant).

The web is HTML for a reason.
