[Wylug-help] Web page problems

It seems that the webmaster of a certain club no longer wishes to do the job, 
and I may have to take it on.  There is only one problem that I can see, 
which is that there is extensive use made of slide-shows which appear to be 
controlled by javascript.  Similar slide-shows will be required to be added 
at various time.

This is totally outside my experience - I've only ever done static pages.  
Where can I learn whatever I need to know to do this?
