Yes.  Documents and Readme etc tend to be good as well as useful.

Yes.  That was the way that I felt when I looked at Drupal.  Wonderful 
CMS but a bit like reading through a pile of medical technology 
research papers to learn how to put an elastoplast on someones 
finger ;)

Yes.  Just about anything to do with web pages can be fraught with all 
sorts of weird problems.  Best not to mention the W3C vs Microsoft 
(non) web standards thing.  A large black hole awaits those of us who 
don't think before leaping over the edge into the darkness ;)
