It does rather look like that, yes, provided that you are running 2.6.27...?

I'm running 2.6.22-3-686 on the particular system I was experimenting 
on, so it appears that I wouldn't have seen your problem.

Fortunately the work-around is relatively straightforward: boot a 
different kernel and the resync will happen automatically.
