I'm quite sure that there was no "Your first steps with
Ubuntu"-talk. But I wasn't there on Sunday... However, it's a
nice idea and we should definitely keep it in mind for the next
install feast.
About your question: There is plenty of documentation about your
newly installed Ubuntu GNU/Linux available. A nice guide to
almost everything is [1]. If you are only looking for a short
command reference, [2] will probably be nice for you.
