[YLUG][OT] alternatives to seq when scripting for loops

Hi,
Just trying to write a quick bash script on my machine at work which
is running solaris 10 (hence the OT).  And it turns out I don't have a
seq command, for generating the sequence of numbers which I want the
loop to run with.  Any ideas of other ways to do this, rather than
just writing out the list of numbers in full.
