Hi all,
in order to clean up with any missunderstandings we may have, I'm
going to reply to Al's PM to the list:

No, I used different filenames. However, Arthur's TXT.rtf is the
manually extracted text message from an e-mail. However, the
suffix ".rtf" is missleading.
Consider the e-mail [1] I send to our list. This is a
multipart MIME message which has two different parts. One is the
text I wrote (starting at line 22: "Content-Type: text/plain;
charset=us-ascii"), the other one is the signature (line 61:
"Content-Type: application/pgp-signature"). You can manually
extract both parts [2,3] and store the text message as
"text.txt" and the signature as "sig.txt". Now something like
$ gpg --verify sig.txt text.txt
will work.
gpg: Signature made Fri 29 Sep 2006 14:33:00 BST using DSA key ID 5BC905EC
gpg: Good signature from "Jan Tobias Muehlberg <muehlber at fh-brandenburg.de>"
[...]
If it doesn't work it is definitely your web browser's or text
editor's fault.
Best,
J. Tobias
