Likewise with me and Python/Perl.
I'm warming to C# as a language but yes, the verbosity is bloody
annoying after having spent the last 4 years hacking Python and C almost
exclusively. I certainly prefer C# to C++ for some odd reason.
Myself and a former colleague are working on porting some of the
Python development tools I wrote to run natively under Windows rather
than having to faff around with Cygwin and whatnot and we're using
IronPython for prototyping and writing extensions in C# where necessary
- this process is surprisingly painless. Or, as we like to say, C# draws
its inspiration from Java and C++ and incorporates the worst features of
both ...
For my next trick, I plan to port my distributed computation
framework to C# :-)
