Single example: they fork packages, but push support back to the  
original packager.

The debian exim package has had the configuration stuff "improved" by  
Ubuntu,
but all the documentation pushes people to the debian lists (or the  
main exim
lists) for support. The Ubuntu and Debian configs are not at all the  
same, and
there are no people on the debian lists that are familiar with the  
Ubuntu
changes. Ubuntu developers have not been interested in co-operating on  
support
for this.
