I've been using SQLAlchemy for the last week, working on switching quite 
a complex web 2.0 app from PHP to TurboGears (the PHP was a legacy of 
the previous developers).

I've been loving SQLAlchemy, it's very elegant indeed.  I can also 
really recommend Elixir:

     http://elixir.ematia.de/

I expect it will become the default mapper for SA quite soon.
