[YLUG] VOIP as your main phone... feasible? Recommendations?

Adam'll undoubtedly rephrase this to be more accurate, but if you're
worried about your power failing and being without a telephone, one of the
easiest solutions is to use an ATA, with a normal (PSTN) phone and line.

The ATA acts as a bridge between PSTN and SIP. You plug in a standard PSTN
phone, which can then dial out over SIP. In the event of a power failure,
most ATAs route (automatically) through PSTN instead of SIP. .'., 999
calls when your power fails. :)
