if someone is interested in the machine but doesnt't want the Windows discs i'd
have a use for those.  (it turns out that the handful of dead thinkpads
i'd built up had recovery partitions but not installation discs,
and so i can't install windows on a replacement desktop machine i'd bought
for testing a portable application under windows.)
