That's a different (and known) issue in fact. The Juniper SSL VPN
client never has worked with the OpenJDK Java components, which is why
those of us who use this client install the Sun Java packages, not their
OpenJDK equivalents.

Aside from which, Java issues prevent the client from installing and
launching. That isn't my issue; the client is installed and launches
correctly, connects to the Juniper SSL VPN gateway, is allocated an
IP address and a tun0 interface connection is established.

However, unlike what happens (connecting to the same SSL VPN gateway,
from the same laptop) using Ubuntu 6.06, 7.10 & 8.04, when using 9.04
the SSL VPN connection drops out after 5-10 seconds.

That is quite baffling and I spent much more time this weekend than
I would have preferred (a lovely sunny Bank Holiday weekend and I
was stuck indoors futzing with a laptop!) trying to figure it out
(unsuccessfully to date and I eventually bit the bullet and installed
8.04.2).
