[YLUG] Am having DNS lookup probs. Everything working apart from Chromium and Firefox.

Add
nameserver 8.8.8.8
To /etc/resolv.conf
That is one of Googles DNS servers

I would guess your issue us unlikely to be DNS. Maybe proxy settings?
