[Herts] black hole emails

Unfortunately when I try to redirect a mailbox at my ISP to error:nouser 
I get an error message saying:

   "You have not completed your e-mail address correctly"

and the redirect is not set up. It seems to insist on the @ sign, if 
nothing else!
