[Rustington] How do I re-enable the network on Ubuntu

Thanks for your help, Stuart. A right hand click on the wireless icon was all that was needed.  It's easy when you know how, but why do they make the 'enable network' switch so difficult to find?

Thanks again,

Jack

Hi Jack,

I assume that you are talking about a wireless
network connection ?

I know it sounds silly, but have you checked
that wireless has not been accidentally turned off at the PC, this can
sometimes happen.

If wireless is enabled at the PC ... when you
RIGHT HAND mouse CLICK on the wireless icon on the top status bar, do you
see "Enable Networking" and "Enable Wireless" ticked ? If not tick both
boxes.

Then with a normal mouse click on the same icon do
you see your Wireless Router listed ?

If not then maybe the Router needs switching on or
off, but your Router is listed then double-click it and enter your WEP/WPA
security as required.

You should then connect.

I hope that this is helpful, cheers,

Stuart.
