Thanks for the URL Gavin, I stand corrected

I am working on my sound set up, however I have a CD drive and a DVD
drive. The DVD is recognised and can be mounted (device is cdrom) but
Debian cannot (or will not) accept the CD drive, anyone got any ideas? I
suppose having a DVD is good but I cannot use plain CD's due to the
different file system, which rules games like Baldur's Gate out.
