[sclug] New account in Mozilla Mail

Has anyone an idea why I can't create a new email account in my Mozilla 
Mail (1.3.1)?  I'm using Mandrake 9.1, in case that's relevant, patched 
up to date as of last night.

I have two email accounts previously created, but now I want to add a 
third.  Having started the 'create new email account' procedure and 
completed the first screen, when I enter the incoming server name (eg 
pop.ntlworld.com) I get an alert asking me for a 'valid hostname'.  I 
can't get past this point, whatever I enter. Suspecting this is to do 
with creating a new account directory I've checked permissions on the 
/home/..../Mail directory but they seem okay.

I can't figure this out. Any ideas anyone?
