[Blackpool] Udemy - Introduction to Raspberry Pi

I'm usually a bit tight when it comes to parting with cash too!

I notice pretty much everything from Lynda is still available as a torrent.  Other than Lynda, I've given KelbyOne.com money.  They do creative Adobe and Photography courses and I think the quality of the courses makes them worth paying for.

I will try the Pluralsight trial and Skillshare - thanks for mentioning them.

You didn't mention Microsoft Virtual Academy, so I'll toot the M$ horn!... Microsoft give you their front line servers and development tools for free and also provide high quality courses free in the Academy and routes to get qualified with MTA stepping stones to MCSA or MCSD.   Three MTA tracks of IT Infrastructure, Database and Developer are available to suit anyone. 

When I thought the gravy train was over for my skillset I downloaded the MSSQL servers (free) onto some old bits of hardware at home and started down the Database track using the (free) training and looking at the healthy job market for that skillset in our area.

Perhaps not a popular thought for a Linux Group mailing list, but I believe Micro$oft have done more for us professionally for free than anything that would traditionally be called open source.  I have half an MCSD from more than a decade ago and that has been worth more to me than any academic qualification even though in that time period I have hardly done any M$ development.  

So if you don't like paying for technology and training, take a closer look at Microsoft tools!
