I don't know if you do much java programming, but remind me to show
you the refactoring tools built in to the Eclipse editor sometime. Bet
vi can't do that :-)

I only had a brief stint on vms. Can't remember it very well now - I
think I used emacs.

For me, it depends on the task at hand. One of the nice things about
modern linuxes is that you (generally) have an even choice for any
given job, whether to use command line or GUI tools.
