It is possible to have Lilo load the NT boot loader, rather than the
other way round. It's a neater solution because you don't have to
export the boot sector. I did it by installing NT onto /dev/hda, then
moving that disk to /dev/hdb. Then I put a new disk into /dev/hda and
installed Linux on it. Finally, I put in a lilo option to boot from
/dev/hdb and had it do that drive-swap thing where the bios says hdb is
hda and vice versa. It didn't fool NT itself - as soon as the NT kernel
loaded it realised it was on "D:" - but it did fool the NT boot loader
and that's all you need as NT will happily run fron D:

The only hassle was having to have a small DOS partition on /dev/hda -
because the NT boot loader insisted that page.sys had to be on what it
thought was C:

There may be a more elegant solution but I didn't care enough about NT
to look for it.
