Haven't had much of a problem with Athlon cpus and Linux.  I'm using 
one with SuSE 7.3 to write to you.  ECS motherboard.  It's nothing 
fancy but it works.  

I have had problems with several different Jetway boards and had to 
return them for something else.   Maybe this is it ?
