I was shopping in Tescos yesterday, and found a new webcam on their
shelves. At a cost of 20 pounds, I thought it must be no
good, but bought one anyway.

The brand is 'Dexxa' and they should be found in
the section with inkjet paper and computer supplies.
The camera is very similar to a Logitech Quickcam Express.

And it works under Linux!
You will need a recent kernel (2.4.9 or greater) plus
USB support.
I will spare you all the attachment of an image of me
sitting at my desk.
