When Linus suddenly decided to release 2.0, it was a bit of a jump/surprise
at the time.  Especially since in a lot of people's opinion, the 1.3 kernels
weren't stable enough yet.  Linus admitted it was completely arbitrary iirc.
Shit, to think that was over five years ago..  I feel old now.
