[Gllug] ADSL Linux

I already have a BT line which is almost exclusively used for my modem, so I
don't really want to get cable as well, 2nd Telewest only offer analogue
down my street . I don't want to buy a adsl router as I don't want to loose
control to a bit of kit.... I have SUSE running as my FW at present and I
think I am going to learn more using that than buying a box...even if it
does mean I make mistakes.

I am aware that there are plenty of FAQ's regarding ADSL/Linux ...I was not
asking how to connect more along the lines of peoples personal
feelings...e.g. don't touch the actel box with a bargepole etc etc..not
something normally present on a FAQ that might (or might not be) 6 months
out of date. The questions on connection will probably come when I buy the
box..

Plusnet seems to be the best (and one of the cheapest) at the moment

In some areas, cable companies do not provide broadband for a variety of
reasons. I live in Ealing and in this part of the world NTL do not offer
broadband access. I would therefore have to use an ISP such as Pipex or
PlusNet.
