Hmm.. have you enabled saveunders?  Do you have a different background
image on each virtual desktop?  You seriously can't be trying hard
enough at only 14.5MB RSS. :)

Seems my X is on about 200M VSZ (with WindowMaker, gnome-panel,
vmware[1], galeon, evolution and a bunch of gnome-terms running). 
Sheesh, and this thing only has 256MB RAM with 64MB sliced off for the
video card.

The thing is, though, that X won't deallocate memory (I've been led to
believe) unless it's needed by other processes; so if you have gobs of
memory, it will just keep allocating it.

BTW, I have nothing against enlightenment - in fact I look forward to
its next release.
