It is indeed. It always seemed funny to me that Fishing rods came with
Lightning strike warnings on them. I personally would not stand in a river
waving a graphite rod above my head during a thunderstorm. I can imagine the
fish all gathering around like some weird spectator sport just waiting for
you to get fried.
