   You will probably need some sort of compression system on each input amp,
otherwise input levels will vary far too much. A simple system monitors the
amp output and drives a shunt FET near the amp input (where there are less
distortion problems). The attack and decay characteristics can be preset. It
would also be possible to set a threshold level for each FET drive to give a
binary trigger.
