I'm feeling old now...

been on this list at least 3 years

I've never been to a meeting or anything - but I have learned a lot !

at first the list was so quiet I would forget it existed

*things change*

the list goes through phases

sometimes it's more busy than others - sometimes it's more chatty

personally I am here to share linux knowledge and am happier with the recent
more technical slant ...

but it often hard to agree what is OT and what isn't ;)

Some things about the list seem very stable
sugestions for splitting the list have been resisted as have calls for
changes to the reply-to munging

and while the (signal/noise)|(tech/social) mix fluctuates - it is always a
techy and friendly group.

one thing I would like to point out is that the very vocal members are in a
minority.. there are almost 400 subscribers to this list - most of them are
fairly quiet (but thier presense improves the odds of getting that question
answerd).

I do enjoy some of the OT (geeky) chat - but get frustrated when the vocal
group acts as if it is gllug personified.

BTW - big thanks to the people managing the gllug list :)
