Dermot, I have done this trick in the past, there are some issues
1} the version of ghost you used
2} if you spanned the 3 CD's then no problem

if the CD's are 3 separate CD's you need 3 partitions to ghost them to.

ie. if you put /var /boot on one CD then yes you can ghost that to a partition. CD number 2 has /usr on it then you can put that in another partion or else it will overwrite you previous /var & /boot

short answer YES but be careful

Anybody know the answer to the following:
If I make an image of my main LInux partition (i.e not the swap) onto 3 CDs
using ghost, can I then, using these CDs and ghost, install Linux onto an
other hard drive where I've already created a partition for the Linux.
I have 1 PC and swap over 2 removable hard drives - one has linux working
nicely (with which I've been practising) the other is my main h/d with
Windows (which eagerly awaits the arrival of Linux).
I boot Linux from a floppy.
Thanks
Dermot
