I saw a link to this project:

It looks pretty good to me! (*)
I did work in medical imaging, and got the Visible Human
dataset a few years ago. Then, all the work was on SGI or
Suns - to be honest PCs didn't cut it.

But this works on Linux - downloads available from tomorrow.

(*) Well, maybe 'good' isn't the way to describe slices of the
poor Mr. Jernighan. 
Don't look too hard if you are squeamish.
