I don't know for definate but it may be an issue I remember reading
somewhere that some ISPs are optimisied for MS down to the MS type
authentification protocols. Try checking what authentification protocol
XP uses and compare that to the one that Linux is using. Web page
resolution could be DNS or Proxy issues.
