There's only really one book which no doubt everybody programming in C has a 
look at:

Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Ritchie 'The C Programming Language'.

I must say though, it's very strange to have 'a bored programmer' about. 
Programming is phun, I thought. I'm never bored. There's so much to learn.
Any more bored programmers out there?
