Grab some O'Reilly books.

The best ones are the programming books, like Programming Perl, the
Apache book and so on. But the Linux sysadmin books are good too.

If you're in central London, Foyles on Charing X Road has a very good
selection which you can leaf through.

There are some good Addison-Wesley books too, although the good ones
(TCP/IP Illustrated and friends) are mainly for programmers.
