Stick a cheap ethernet to ethernet router with NAT between each staircase switch and
the main switch this will stock cross-infection of most crud and require very little
management.
The wan side of the NAT router will be limited to to 10Mbs but that is not necessarily a
bad thing since it will inherently stop anyone staircase hogging all the bandwidth.
The routers I use have a list price of £55.50. If your interested call me off list and I'll see
