I'm not sure I agree with you there. I'd typically use a bootable rescue
CD to recover damaged systems, so whether the machine has a RAID boot
partition or not is pretty much irrelevant since the partition is never
needed. In the event that you did have problems & had to reconstruct the 
root partition, then it wouldn't be any significant extra work to do the
same with the boot partition. A working boot partition, isn't much use
without the root partition in any case.
