Sandisk 256mb, 2.4.20 and 2.4.23. 

When I first used this, I noticed that WinXP appeared to consider that a file 
copied to it from linux was corrupted, though diff saw no problem. 

Since then, I've left the device in for much longer than it takes to sync 
three times, and have had no problem even if the device is removed without an 
umount.

My assumption is that there is some kind of buffering happening in the device 
that doesn't flush, and might well be lost, when powered down shortly after 
the transfer.
