Bah, when you look at how many kids get mugged now for mobile phones giving
them laptops which are even more nickable I think this scheme will be
especially good for any local scallies. Oh and also giving people expensive
bits of technology will probably result in lots of "i couldn't do my homework,
the dog ate my laptop" (or more likely "word keeps crashing and I can't get my
data off the machine") it looks doomed to some kind of failure. I recall (was
it on this list) that someone working at some school or college was having
trouble keeping the kids stocked and supplied with mice! let alone the broken
laptops they will have to deal with.
