Conventional wisdom has it that SCSI disks are far more stringently 
tested.  Certainly in my experience SCSI disks are a lot more reliable, 
but then they tend to be used in better environments (constant 
temperature, no jostling) which might account for it.

Personally, I use SATA for all my RAID stuff now unless performance is a 
significant issue, simply because losing a disk in a RAID isn't a major 
issue.  The "I" in RAID is there for a purpose :)
