We use an Acorn RISC PC for the payroll software.
And another one for the bosses' !Alarm database - which has grown to
such a size over the years that there's just no point trying to get him
to use anything else.

£1-2k for a workstation - I think they weren't *that* expensive, just
that people compared the prices to PC's rather than, say, Sun boxes...
