This is a known "feature" of BTOs outgoing mail server. You can get them
to allow you to send email From your own domain name, but you have to
telephone their support line and ask them nicely. You'll be asked to
provide some proof that the domain name you want to send From is
actually yours - normally if the whois information matches the customer
information they have for your account that'll do.
Watch out for the sales droids who will tell you that you will have to
transfer your domain name to BTO and pay them to provide any services
under that domain for you (hosting etc).
