   There is supposed to be a minimum height specification for new wiring to
avoid damage to cables at a tight bend just below the plug, and to make the
sockets easier to reach. It usually has the additional benefit of increased
profit for cable manufacturers. The multi-section wall mounted trunking that
is usually specified for official installations is designed to take standard
size fronts, and can look very nice, but it is horrendously expensive.
