[Gllug] Semaphore

I went out this morning to watch one of the groups sending the semaphore
message up the Thames from Greenwich.

The group is composed of three people - one on binoculars watching the
sending station, one noting down the letters and one signalling with the
flags. The message was noted down then transmitted to the next station
upstream.
There is a defined sequence to initiate a transmission, and a definite
ACK signal after each word.
So with buffers and ACKs this TCP-IP thing isn't all that modern!
